The funny thing is, Magneto had little to do with the Apocalypse storyline when it first came out.
Apocalypse was introduced in X-Factor, which was the 80's comic book with Scott, Jean, Warren, Hank, and Bobby all reunited as the original team. The X-Men were off-planet at the time and presumed dead.
