Yep, that is true. Our schools aren't always situated close to the neighborhoods where people live. I was lucky that my elementary school was so close that I could walk to it.
I didn't have to take a bus to school until I was 11 in my first year of middle school. But also most parents prefer public school buses because they're free. No one wants to have to pay for their kids to use public city-township buses.
