Now logic would make you right but in Shondaland everything is possible. They could be a JAckson/Lexi, Alex/Lexi, MEr/George, Derek/Rose, MEr/ Finn....
Clearly not endgame just there as a timeout from the central romance Jo/Alex...
I don't want them together because I ship Jo/Alex so bad but I want Luca to have someone and right now Jo is the only one I can see him with... Maggie was not good, Steph won't do... Unless they bring someone new. Then again I'll be happy if he does not get anyone but a strong friendship could do... Him and Alex as friends could be nice better than her and Steph. I get the impression Steph does not care for her.
