Emerald City Comic Con: Sasha Roiz on Renard's other daughter, the ring, and family

On how the writers were very fluid with Renard's creation.

Quote:
Sasha Roiz...this is how unbaked Renard was. In the pilot he had a british accent and then we did away with that.... and then thank god.... and then we uh...and then I said I speak a few languages and then they said maybe we will use that and sure enough we did.

And then they said we have some ideas for you...um...you are going to be a royal decendant...okay we kept that.

You are going to have a daughter...scrapped that...if you notice there are early episodes in season 1 in Renard's apartment and there are pictures of him and his daughter all over the wall behind him like really promintenly featured like we had to do these whole photo shoots with this akward girl...who is like why... what do we?...and are for three different ages ...and I'm like and this is my daughter...this is my daughter...this is my daughter...and they are like all over my wall and then cut to like later in the season and they are all gone.

There is a wedding ring that people are always asking about...well that is a throwback to when they thought he was going to be a widower umm.... and then so um and then I didn't even know at all until the first episode of season 2 that he was wesen. NO IDEA! NO IDEA!..and guess who else didn't know...THE WRITERS.

So and it continues and they are like you have a family...this is your mom...I have a mom...and this is your brother and this is your other brother and this is your cousin...you kill that guy...and I am like what is going on.

On if there are any other wesen within the royal family...

Sasha Roiz: I think it was just me...yeah it was just me. My mom was a hexenbeist but she wasn't a royal. The royals they are pure and that is why I think he has the burden that he does becauase he is the only bastard son...so yeah.
