A part of me loves it, but another, stronger part of me says I've would enjoyed them exploring the character in more personal ways than they have. They sidelined him too much, really (and IMO, that's the reason he still comes across as someone you can't figure out), when the potential for character exploration is really deep there - I would've rather had that, at this late in the show.
