Dixie (wirthwoman) gave me permission to post her reports and I'm so glad to do it. Mark can attest that she is a lovely woman.

I think she was at the same show as you.

COME TO THE CABARET
This is going to be short and sweet but since I always report on any encounters with the cast, I thought I should say something about attending the matinee of Cabaret in Pittsburgh on Saturday, February 6.
Since I travel all over the country to see Randy in his plays, it was nice to just travel 20 miles from my home to downtown Pittsburgh to see him play the emcee in the touring company of Cabaret.
I can’t say I was surprised to find that Randy was an excellent emcee since some of my friends had already attended the play in Providence and spoke glowingly of his performance and having seen him in all but one of the plays he has done during and since QAF, I have come to expect nothing less than a stellar performance and he delivered once again.
I had never seen the play Cabaret so I rented the movie which I had also never seen to get a feel for the story. I am so glad that the play was very different. The movie seemed to be more focused on Liza Minnelli as Sally Bowles than Joel Grey as the emcee whereas the emcee is very definitely the person who carries the play and interacts with all the characters. Randy sang, danced, played with the audience, was very naughty, made you laugh and broke your heart.
The play is not for the faint of heart or those who are easily offended by innuendo and highly sexualized debauchery. I found it to be a lot of fun to see Randy prance around and play with the Kit Kat Girls including joining them in a kick line and dancing with a gorilla while singing, “If You Could See Her”. A highlight was his solo of “I Don’t Care Much”.
I’m not going to do a detailed recap of the play and the other cast members who were all quite accomplished in their roles. Randy was the only reason I wanted to see this particular play and now I wish I was seeing it more than once.
If Cabaret is coming to your town be sure to catch a performance. You will be amaz
