Yes!!! This. Even if Luke did not exist, Christopher is still just a worthless human being. The fight between Luke & him during Richard & Emily's vow renewal even proves that. He was NEVER there for his daughter. Ever. Romance aside, Rory had more of a father figure with Luke. Jackson. Hell even Taylor. Rory grew up and was mature BECAUSE her father wasn't there and couldn't grow up. Lorelai & Rory were so close because they were the only unconditional love in either of their lives.
