The Martian was awesome as a movie, so I would definitely recommend seeing it if you were insterested in it.

If that means getting the DVD, then you should get the DVD.

Yeah, "dubbed" is when the translation replaces the original voices.

There are three options when you translate a movie/TV show.

Dubbing is probably the most popular.

Another is to simply lay the new voices on top of the old ones.

I'm not sure why that's done, but a lot of reality TV shows, for instances, do it that way.

Stuff like the Kardashians, I mean.

And the third option is subtitles.

That's my favourite way of seeing translated material (be it movies or TV shows).

Because, then, you get to hear the people who are talking and their real voices and their emotions, etc.

I find that much easier to understand and follow.
