Sgt Frog isn't as "kiddie like" as it looks. It has some sharp satire (from what I've read so far). It would make sense that someone older would like it.

That's actually one of my complaints about manga licensing right now. It's so heavily slanted towards the romance/fantasy side. There's nothing wrong with that genre; I love it personally. But there's so much great stuff falling to the wayside.
