Because I can't see the rest of team being okay with them doing it. Fitz has been in the same situation as Jemma and he loves her so he wants to help. The others would be objective and know the dangers involved. They were all happy the monolith were destroyed and even with Jemma's time there, they know little about the planet. Jemma would also have to explain (unless she lies) about the evil there and that would also have the others tell them to stop.
Therefore not telling them seems like the best option - at least until they need their help or until they have actually found a solution.
