A lot of comments on the forums about people preferring Helen and Cole's POVs even though this week's episode saw quite a bit of an increase in overnight ratings. Maybe last week's dip was due to all the other factors and not just lack of interest in Cole?
I think this season Sarah decided to go with the 'everyone hates Noah' thing, at least for now - it's almost universal dislike!

There was a drop from the finale numbers in season 1, but the premiere figures weren't too bad. However, looks like a lot of people decided not to go forward with the show after that. Even if you didn't want to watch Cole in episode 2, people would come back for Noah/Alison. They did get a rise, but not the numbers that watched the premiere. So, the live numbers have dropped off quite a bit for this season it seems, at this stage. They might pick up later in the season when they focus more on Scotty's killer. You also have to factor in L3 numbers and L7 numbers as well. It's the total number of people watching, not so much when.
I'd be surprised if the decision for renewal/cancellation came before the whole second season airs. They would probably want to see how the show goes for the whole season before making a decision.
