It's really time they give his character something. So far he has mostly been a prop to everyone else's storylines.
Sadly, I agree. I thought Vanessa and Angelique had touched something inside him that made him take a break from his usual hopping around from one fascinating thing to the other with no attachment, but the impulse to follow anything odd and shocking out there is still in him. I do hope Angelique doesn't disappear the minute they break up, though - her character has potential, too.
