What's more strange is that she never bashed the character herself, she only said good things about Franky and seemed to understand her complexity. I also think she played her brilliantly in S5.
But at the same time, she
always complained about having to wear those clothes, to the point that she got to choose her own wardrobe in s6 (most episodes at least) and that Franky Fitzgerald basically became Franky Blue Stonem.
