Lily lied in almost
all of the flashback sequences. I wouldn't be surprised if she forced her boyfriend, and not the other way around like she claimed. She is prone to compulsive lying, and for some reason, I don't see Lily easily forced into doing anything.
She also said she didn't want to see him; that could be because it was her idea and she essentially ditched him.
