Oh absolutely. It's one of MANY retcons and inconsistencies with the show.

I hope so too. I hope that whatever will be the cliffhanger for the season it won't involve SC. But since he filmed some of the last scenes with Lily, Enzo, and Caroline I'm doubting it.
