otherwise, it's been a bad week for weather here. we're not used to a foot of snow in one day in these parts. the (small) city is not equipped with enough plows to clear anything but main roads. that leaves all side roads quite treacherous for most of the week. now it's sleeting and freezing rain. it's supposed to warm up overnight with heavy rain which is gonna cause extensive street flooding. most of the drains are clogged up with snow and ice.

I get why hardier northernmost folks give us a ribbing about it but there's not a lot of options in the budget for snow removal. it might be several years in a row without any significant snowfall.
