Holly 
really do like that Roy believes in her and willing to help her. I think its because he was the same way back in S2; he wanted to help and even before he learned the truth. He felt connected to Oliver; so that's why I think he wants too. He understands how it is to need help and think he understands why she's doing this. PLUS Roy knows that if anything would happen to Laurel; it would effect Oliver. Roy feels that he needs to be the protector; both Thea and now Laurel
