Wait. When did Nyssa say she used it? I know Ras alluded to it but I don't remember Nyssa doing it. I know it's the most logical way but it's too magical for my liking in Arrow's world. That and it usually changes the person, by causing insanity. I don't want him to change. Granted they can avoid those elements on Arrow but I can't help and feel iffy about it.

Nyssa is the one who found a way to use it more than once without dying. Arrow never hinted at it but it's known in the comics that she did multiple times and the fact that Ra's somewhat hinted at it by saying he was last challenged 67 years ago and he doesn't look a day over 45 shows that he must of.
The Lazarus isn't that far fetched now considering they've incoporated the Mirakuru and The Flash. If anything The Flash is more out there than the Lazarus Pit.
