It just seems like there's really no thematic purpose to it. I'm sure it's an enjoyable read if you read for the purpose of a story, but for me, reading has to be 'educational' or I have to take something from the story, otherwise I get bored easily.
Also, I liked Catching Fire but I hated the ending, which led into Mockingjay and dictates its plot, which may be another reason I have a hard time reading it.
