Obviously it all depends on the circumstances. For how long will TO go on? When will TVD end? Are the writers determined to have Klaus end up with someone else and/or Caroline with Stefan? Will Candice be up for it?
But yes. Klaroline didn't even have that much time together and they haven't had anything in a long time, yet some people still ship them fiercely. IMO, they have a great dynamic and beautiful chemistry, and I haven't shipped anyone for ages (Jolaric is a work-in-progress.) So I'd say they have a chance, albeit a small one.
