Liz clinging to the memory of Jason and her bothers me. From what I remember watching the show, Lucky was and had always been Liz great love. But it was complicated. Though I don't know much of their story. I didn't really start watching strongly until Michael was half grown.
Jason was married and in love with Sam when he "died" the first time around. They have a child together, a child that Jason never got to truly be with and be a father too. That doesn't take away from the son that Liz and Jason had who died. But Jason's life was with Sam the last time he was on the show, not Liz.
I do find it interesting that Liz stays by his bed nothing. The second Sam and Danny show up and Sam holds Jason's hand. All the machines start going off and his vitals start getting better. Jason is fighting to wake up to be with Sam and Danny. And it wouldn't be right for Liz to be one of the things to keep them apart.
