I saw that essay yesterday - I do think it makes a very good point about how much we do see of Snow and Charming on the show and fandom. Because fanfic and so on is often about filling gaps or writing things you don't see or will ever see onscreen, and Snowing is the ship we get most of on this show. In the years I've been in various fandoms, it's often ships that are teased but haven't happened yet, ships that will never happen or ships with another conflicting ship that will get the most fic output. Established couples tend to get less just because there's more of them on the show so people get their fix there.

(Other factors play in as well and I am not saying this is true for all, just that it's generally the pattern in fandoms.)
