When I was in the theater group before I had to quit, the new director told my ex-husband that he couldn't sing he screamed (He was/is) into heavy metal and learned to sing that way. My late mother in law was told that she needed singing lessons because she couldn't carry a note. She went to one and they gave her the money she paid them back and told her that she was unteachable. I was the only one that could sing and she threatened to stab me with me a knife, so my ex made sure that she calmed down before I came out from under the bed; about 2 hours under there. She apologized for her actions.
