For Damon, hell yeah. He can't be redeemed, idk why they're even gonna bother at this point.
For Elena, meh. I don't know if she really needs redemption based on how horrible everyone on this show is. But as far as making her likable, I think the writers should really take the focus off the triangle for a long time and have her focus on the brother she's forgotten exists and her friends. They need to give her a really good character arc imo, but we all know they are incapable of this so I don't think this is going to go so well lol.
