Shirley Temple had a very early career in the entertainment business, which tells me her parents probably had a lot to do with it.
But, of course, she's well known for having been a symbol of optimism to the nation during the Great Depression, so there was a greater purpose there.
And, as an adult, she was a champion of various causes, which is always something to admire, even if I didn't quite agree with her politics.
My thoughts are for her family and loved ones.
