Hyde's the child of two alcoholics. Before S7, he was genetically related to Bud, so Hyde's DNA was against him. The events of his life catalyzed his predisposition toward alcoholism. He's someone who really shouldn't be drinking, especially because he usually drinks with the sole purpose to get drunk.
