This moment always bothers me. Bud, a recovering alcoholic, offers his seventeen-year-old son (who -- at this time in the series -- is his genetic child) a beer to cope with anger. Bud should've thought, "Gee, maybe offering my son alcohol to tamp down his feelings isn't the best idea." Talk about helping his kid to follow in his footsteps.

Not only that, but Bud also takes Hyde to a nudie bar. So he liquors his kid up, takes him to a place where women are considered less than human -- all to manipulate Hyde to move in with him and pay his rent. Red is so right when he says Bud "isn't good".
