It’s been a long and at times frustrating creative road for Murray to this point, with many of the roles he has undertaken to date (“The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia,” “Tyler Perry’s A Madea Christmas”) seeming to have pigeonholed him into.

After years of seeing him play the love-lorn, high school boy next door in one version or another, Murray absolutely bursts off the screen with a fresh, raw portrayal of a character type he has never really attempted before. The punchy writing and rocket pace really seem to suit him in this role; and he seems to flourish in the pressured environment, in a role that is not weighed down by lengthy back story or teenage angst. His performance is sharp, desperate, instinctive and gutsy. Indeed, one surmises that his fans have waited a long time to see him truly break out a meaty, well-executed role like this.
“They want a show? A fight? Let them Come.”
It will be really exciting to see not just how he fares in this role but also in how it might define a new chapter in his career, so make sure you check out his wonderful performance in this groundbreaking production.
