Yes, I see what you mean about Alfred. Carson can be a stiff-necked old codger, but he seems to have always liked Alfred. Maybe it was just a way to kick Moseley in the teeth...again. I wish they'd get him something to do or write him out because it's getting old, seeing him as the punching bag/comic relief. Though Jim Carter's expression and intonations were amusing.
Phyllis Logan is really good. Her scenes with Bates were, pardon the expression, killers!
What do think of Tom and Isobel? I see potential there...always did, but JF is not using it.
