It's far from flawless but I don't think it's meant to be. Helena doesn't care if it causes problems for Sarah latter on, she's there to mess with Sarah even more. The only reason why she even bothers to hide her hair is so people won't bother her while she's there.
On the note of Helena's video though, does no one in the station even see/hear her recording the video? These police officers are not paying enough attention.
