I kind of think that their friendship in the past, even if they shared a lot, was pretty messed up overall. There was real caring, of course, but when Mona felt like the Liars took Hanna away, they lost having anything real at that point. I feel like in a way, they have a chance to truly be friends again now that everything is out in the open. I believe Mona's attempt to save Ashley and help Hanna is a huge start for them. I also have yet to see one shred of evidence that Hanna has stopped caring for Mona. If anything, her feelings for her increased after finding out she was mentally disturbed and A. I think Hanna still really cares about Mona, I
know Mona cares for Hanna, and I believe they can build something together in the future when this dramatic mess is all over with.
