I agree! Seriously, this episode was so emotional. I am still crying from back when Mona knew Hanna sort of used going shopping with her as a means to get that chip. Mona knew it.
But we all know Hanna had a very difficult time finding out about Mona being A. She still cares very deeply for her. It's still there. Mona loves Hanna too much to have allowed her to plead self defense. I think Mona knew Hanna never could have pulled it off but more than that, Mona didn't want Hanna to go through that for even a second. I loved that little smile Mona gave the Liars as the blinds were closing. It was directed at Hanna as to say "I've got this, friend" and it's simply amazing.
