It reminds me a little bit about how Birkhoff was originally a selfish guy who followed Percy's orders and didn't rebel. Then he left Division, got a nice house, and lived just for himself. But eventually he helped out Michael and Nikita, complaining a little bit about their missions, but eventually becoming selfless and good.
I think Owen right now is being selfish because he just got back his identity, and he just wants to leave and think about his own desires. But I think he can be won over by Nikita again, even if it's reluctant at first.
