Someone asked how after realizing she wanted to be a mother when she met Owen why did it take Regina so long to adopt a child. And that got me to thinking.
One I know this is a tv show and probably a fishy adoption. But adoptions are hard, there is a ton of red tape. And considering she lives in a cursed town that no one knows about would makes it even harder. And two perhaps it was faith or destiny or magic waiting till Emma had her own child. So that the child of the Savior could be brought to Storybrooke. To help break the curse with the true love of a mother's unconditional love.
