That's what I find so amazing. I mean yeah there have been moments when Emma has shown emotion (thinking Henry died, her fight in the woods with August) but those are rare moments.
Here though her walls were completely down and she was back to being that vulnerable 17 year old who was deeply in love.
And when she called her mom those walls were still down and she was broken. She was practically hyperventalating because of it.
No one has ever really managed to break Emma's walls except for Neal because he's the first person she let all the way in.
