Kat Graham was amazing in this episode! And she looked so beautiful, like a young Janet Jackson. I do wonder if there's anyone else that can talk her down when the power gets overwhelming aside for Shane.
The whole Damon being compelled to kill Jeremy reminds me of when Klaus compelled Stefan to kill Elena. They both fought hard to stop the compulsion, they were both willing to stake or having themselves be killed rather than kill the person and they both failed in the end to actually overcome the compulsion. I don't think their inability to resist the compulsion is indicative the amount of love or will they have.
Damon being the basement reminded me of the beginning of 1x05 - You're Undead to Me when Stefan was going to keep him in there to desiccate. I can't imagine they'll actually keep him in there for more than an episode. Also, I was glad that Damon was able to realize he was compelled by Kol pretty quickly. I thought the show was about to get soap-y.
I enjoyed Jeremy having more of a focus.
