Yeah - there was a series that started in 1987 and went 3 seasons. Beauty = Catherine Chandler (played by Linda Hamilton) and Beast = Vincent (played by Ron Perlman). If you look on youtube and enter Vincent Catherine you'll find tons of vids. They were hugely popular (I didn't discover them til the late 90's when the eps ran on SciFi Network).
It's funny ... cause everything comes back to the original in a really cool way. Ron Koslow was the producer back then, and is producing this series (believe me - I feel better knowing that). Tony Jay played the villain, Paracelsus, in the original series. Jay Acovone played Catherine's good friend. And now, a Jay, is yet again involved ... this time playing Vincent.
