That would be perfect. I hope that during her search, she's found something else that's either key to stopping the next big bad or something that enhances her abilities.
I liked Jane's story arch in the first movie, but her research and her role as the woman of science really needs to lead somewhere.

That's what I'm hoping for, too. It'd be nice if her search helped discover something helpful so when her and Thor can talk, she'll have this big news to tell him.
I like it too but it would be so great to see more to it, really.
