How can you not give a jack about your main character? I don't get it

If they make Elena choose Stef, I'm gonna be beyond pissed and disappointed. I'll never bash Elena because I like her too much. I like her and that's why I don't want her to be stuck with a guy who sucks the life out of her. With Damon she can let go & have fun. She can explore other sides of her personality. Stef is not the guy for her. How can Elena choose him if she clearly has feelings for Damon? It wouldn't make any sense.
