I think hiatus is often hibernation for fans! It's hard enough when there is a 3.5 month break, but lately the shows I'm interested in have nine month hiatuses! Torture. AT least we'll maybe soon learn some Merlin tidbits when filming starts. When are they going to Pierrefonds?
