I think the concept was that for Meredith her life is better the way it is and even if Ellis didn't get ALZ and she was happily married she still wouldn't be a good mother in any world. I thought Mer as bright and shiny was a nice change thought
. The way George and Izzie were mentioned especially Izzie was just a message from the writers to the actor or is it just me
as if their characters were always doomed. The whole Addison and Derek being still married was just them miserable way before the cheating thing was out like even though they were expecting a child the marriage was still in the worst shape and even if the baby was Derek's and there no was cheating they would stayed together for a baby but anyway me and others totally called the baby is Mark's once a cheater always a cheater
