I wonder if they'll get a scene early on in the first episode back
I can't imagine they'll leave the Gilbert's guardian situation untouched for too long.
While Matt seems to manage his house just fine with his mom barely around, this is a bit more serious of a situation I think with them literally having no one now even at a distance.
Unless we find out they have some kind of distant, not yet introduced, relatives.
In that case, I wonder if Alaric would still try for them anyway. He was so embedded in their family...
