Great intro to the pilot, Anla.

I shared most of your feelings, maybe all of them. I was caught up by M/L - in season one I really did like them. I didn't notice M/M much either. I loved Maria's scenes, but didn't know what to think of either Michael or Isabel at this stage. Loved Isabel and Alex's conversation because it was funny, and because I loved Isabel and Maria's costumes, I had no idea these would become my favorite characters.

Valenti was scarily effective.

Kyle was interesting right from the start, both a menace and someone whose motivations made immediate sense. Poor guy... how can he compete with an alien who saved the girl's life?

The scene with the aliens staring at the crash was very sad and evocative.

Actually, I love the use of the Crash Festival as the backdrop to the episode. It was very effective. It set the idea of Roswell as home to all things alien. It showed the connection to the crash, the mystery and sadness the aliens felt. And I love the costumes.

It makes me wonder why they didn't use the festival in the other season?
