Here's the english translation of a 2008 greek article I found about Kate.

Sweet Lady Kate

About a month ago, everyone believed the star of December would be Nicole Kidman. Coming back to the director that showed her the road to the Oscars for the first time ( «Moulin Rouge») and with an astronomic begroting, an 8-month shooting and heavenly ambitions, «Australia» seemed like the ideal cinematic train, that would bring her back to success. But, she travelled back home with the dress of the star in her luggage and she forgot the recipe of the right actress in America. By bringing to life sympathetic roles in front of the camera of a Buzz Lurhman (sorry if I spell it wrong), who yet hasn't decided what kind of film he would like to shoot (he wrote six endings and shot only three of them!) she ended up starring in a new "Pride and Prejudice" rather than being the leading actress to a "remake" of "Gone With The Wind".
December, as well as the entire 2008, undoubtely belong to Kate Winslet. Brave as no one else, the 33 year-old British actress found herself at the age of 20 in the hands of glory (BAFTA Award for "Sense and Sensibility") and at the age of 22 with the entire world being hers. After "Titanic", she also starred in other blockbuster films, such as "Hideous Kinky" and "Holy Smoke". With the films "The Reader" and "Revolutionary Road" she now proves, twice, that each role is an unpredictable journey to discovering yourself.
How different is the way she walks in the dresses of Sam Mendes' film, than the way she gets naked in "The Reader"... How willing she is to open her heart in one film and how she makes us see sadness drawn in her eyes on another...
Her eyes, her body, her clothes, her lines, her silences, her co-stars... There's nothing Winslet can't use, nothing that, by touching it, doesn't automatically give voice and meaning to it.
An Oscar would be the smallest honor for the greatest actress of our time!
