I chose to vote away #6, not because I don't love it. I do think its an important part of their buildup. But, #8 is key. Pacey was trying to tell Joey how he felt. Just because he didn't get to say it with words, doesn't mean he wasn't saying it. And then he teaches her how to drive, which we all know meant A LOT to Joey because she mentions it later on.
