The only reason I could think of for why they didn't write their own vows was because of his secret. Maybe they couldn't go in depth with their feelings without some of that coming out?

Also I think that they had so much shyit in their relationship and life that wasn't normal. I think the one thing she wanted especially was a NORMAL wedding.
