I have a problem with the way that teen moms are portrayed on TV nowadays. There was once a time when Degrassi was the only show to do a teen pregnancy storyline. But now it's everywhere - like it's normal or something. In some ways I feel like teen pregnancy is glamourized. Like "get pregnant and you can become famous." From reality shows to Dancing With the Stars contestants, teen pregnancy is almost becoming "cool." And, if you notice, I find that birth control/abortion is rarely discussed at all. There's like this underlying notion of Christianity that I don't find very realistic.
I don't know how it is in Canada, but in America we got the Teen Moms from 16 and Pregnant/Teen Mom scoring tabloid covers. =/ And with America, we do get the ****-shaming underlying Christian message about all this stuff, but at least no one is openly calling these girls ****s.
