Question: What’s with all the Taylor Momsen/Gossip Girl drama? Will she be back next season at all? —Allo
Ausiello: Not sure what drama you’re referring to, but per my original story, she’ll be MIA only for the first part of next season. My prediction: Jenny will make a dramatic return at the start of November sweeps!

Stephanie Savage [on the Chuck/Jenny hook-up]: “This is a story that has been three years in the telling — going back to the pilot,” she reminds us. “And that’s a story that we’ll keep telling in season 4. So I don’t think it’s coming out of nowhere. And it lands on everybody. It lands on Dan, Blair, Serena, Rufus, Lily, Nate — every single person has a POV about this, and we’re going to see these ripple effects over time.“

My first question: Were those Taylor Momsen’s real tears?
STEPHANIE SAVAGE: Yes. I wasn’t there on the day they shot that, but that’s what it really looks like if a girl with raccoon eyes cries that much. There was nothing we could do.

How long will Jenny be gone for?
SAVAGE: I’d rather not say.

Will she be a changed person when she returns?
SAVAGE: Yes. What happens in the finale has a real impact on Jenny.

What about Taylor Momsen? When is her leave of absence up?
S.S.: We have a plan, but we want to save it as a surprise.

Will Blair make good on her promise to destroy Little J if she comes back to the city?
J.S.: Blair doesn't make promises [she can't keep].
S.S.: We will do whatever will create maximum drama.

Taylor Momsen will be back at some point in the first half of the season. They're creating tension while she's gone, and they'll bring her back with "as much drama as possible."

Will Jenny Humphrey be back?
As for Little J, yes, she will return.

Jenny is mentioned several times in the beginning of the season by various characters. Rufus and Lily saw her over the summer in Hudson and according to Rufus is looking great, remarking you can even see the color of her eyes. Jenny's room at the loft is briefly turned into a nursery to accomodate the baby storyline (which only lasts 3 episodes).

Regarding Chuck/Jenny's finale hookup:

Jenny doesn't blame Chuck at all. Apparently told Rufus this over and over again. Chuck is extremely repentative about the whole thing. He tells Lily he should have helped Jenny instead of using her. Eric and Rufus hate Chuck for what he did. Rufus finally starts to come around (mostly due to Jenny and Lily), but then Eric tells him about the Kiss on the Lips party. Rufus confronts Chuck and the damage is done.

Blair views the hook-up as the one thing she can never forgive (even over the Jack Bass situation), and still hates Jenny. Lily takes the peacekeeper approach and just wants to keep the family together. Doesn't judge anyone. She even knew about the Kiss on the Lips party. Said Jenny confided in her. Serena is similiar to Lily and just tries to help Blair with her grief. Dan doesn't talk about it but he's been busy with his baby drama and Serena/Vanessa stuff. Vanessa doesn't appear to have knowledge of the situation.

Nate still doesn't appear to have knowledge of the situation either. Of course he is preoccupied with having foursomes, whining about Serena, and being shamelessly manipulated by Juliet that he doesn't even mention Jenny period and besides Vanessa is the only main character to never directly mention the situation (whether in the finale or in the first four episodes). There are a couple vague scenes about Chuck's past and the tension in the family, but it doesn't appear Nate knows anything about what happened between Chuck and Jenny and he's definitely supposed to have a pov.

Also, in episode 406, Jenny returns for a fashion school interview.

"Everything is taken out of context. The other night some guy asked me, "What's going on with Gossip Girl?" So I said, "it's done dude" because we'd finished shooting. And suddenly I'm quitting the show. But I'm not doing an interview with someone chasing me down the street with a camera. What you read probably isn't what I even said. It's just a snippet of what I was trying to say. I'm kind of awkward and stuttery when I speak, so things get taken the wrong way."- TAYLOR

Question: Please give me some scoop about Jenny’s return to Gossip Girl! —Giovanni
Ausiello: I was right. Jenny reappearance is directly connected to Tim Gunn’s upcoming cameo. Turns out Blair permits her nemesis to return to the scene of her last crime (i.e. Manhattan) just long enough for her to interview for a job with Gunn at Parsons. Without giving too much away, Jenny inadvertently gets caught up in Chuck and Blair’s latest drama, and the whole mess comes to a head at (natch) a big fancy party.
