^ I think it will have to be until the trio get to the Shell Cottage and Bill explains it to them. They probably change the story a bit on how he got his scar. Or Ron would tell Harry and Hermione after he comes back from the run that Bill got attacked or something and he got the scar. There's a lot of angles they can tweak it so I'm not worried where they choose to explain it as long as there IS an explanation.
