It probably is just an American thing. I'm sure it was developed as a counter to Boy's Life magazine. I googled it and I don't think the new magazine is out in stores yet. They still have the April/May issue featured and I'm assuming the Sisterhood cover will be a June/July issue since that's when the movie comes out.
